Club Information

 

New Berlin Lioness Club was chartered September 30, 1977. Membership meetings are held on the second Wednesday of each month beginning at 6:30 p.m. at various locations. Board meetings are held on the fourth Wednesday of each month beginning at 6:30 p.m. at the New Berlin Public Library (15105 Library Lane – near Coffee Road and National Avenue).
 
Our Annual Champagne Breakfast proceeds go to the Wisconsin Lions Foundation Camp at Rosholt for the blind, deaf, special needs children and adults attend.
 
The Fourth of July Food/Soda Stand at John Malone Park in New Berlin proceeds are donated to the New Berlin Police and Fire Departments as well as other organizations in the Community such as the Public Library/Story Hour, Food Pantry, Senior Taxi, Scholarship Fund, Veteran’s Memorial in addition to other organizations like the Relay For Life in memory of or to honor a survivor of cancer and Kathy’s House which is a home away from home for out of town adults/families to stay at while they receive medical treatment at local hospitals. 
 
We support the youth of our community with the Children’s Stage at the Fourth of July, assemble Easter Baskets and Back to School Backpacks for families in need and also support the Girl Scouts of Wisconsin, Southeast.   We support various Waukesha County Programs including but not limited to: Special Olympics, Mental Health Center, Association for Retarded Citizens, Hebron House and Sienna House which helps abused women and children.
 
Two Soda Booths at the Lions Corn Roast Stand located at the Wisconsin State Fair Park proceeds are donated to many Lions International Projects which include Leader Dog for the blind, Eye Bank/Sight First II, Lions International Youth Foreign Exchange Camp, along with other local organizations such as B.O.L.D. (Blind Outdoor Leisure Development) and the Center for Blind and Visually Impaired Children.
 
Other Lioness Service Projects include: Helping families at Christmas with food and gifts, Caring Is Sharing committee where we collect toiletries for veterans/people at various shelters and we assist the Lions with a World Service Day at the Clement Zablocki VA Hospital serving an evening lunch and desserts to veterans.
 
We are a Service Organization serving our community; though we work together we become more than club members to each other. A true fellowship exists among Lioness and this creates a warm friendly and fun atmosphere, which carries over to our many community activities. We also do social and fun things as attend baseball games, shows, plays, attending other Lioness Club or District social events, attending District, State and International Conventions .
